Brief Introduction (100 words):
In 1963 Mr. Y. C. Wang, Chairman of the Formosa Plastics Group, established Mingchi Institute of Technology to cultivate backbone technicians for Taiwan's industry. In 1999 the five-year junior college transformed into a senior college of technology with an affiliated five-year program and then in 2004 transformed into a university of technology. Nowadays there are three colleges in the university including Engineering, Environment and Resources, and Management and Design.

Students are encouraged to diversify these activities in order to enrich their own leisure time. Students are also guided to combine their extracurricular activities with students' affairs, so that they may take great pride in the team spirit of the university The purpose of merging the university with the community is thus achieved. In sports events, the university has put special stress on creating an athletic environment and developing physical training programs for students. In addition to the annual swimming contest, track and field meet and cross-country race, there are all kinds of ball games, which are held regularly throughout the year.
