• In 1966 Tajen Pharmaceutical Junior College was
founded by Mr. Taoyi Huang, the incumbent Chairman of the Board, with the
motto, “Study Diligently; Embody Virtues”. The college started with only one
department, the Department of Pharmacy, and offered a five-year program for
junior college students.
• Since 1980, more academic departments were established.
• In 1999 the institution was promoted from Tajen Pharmaceutical Junior
College, a five-year junior college, to Tajen Institute of Technology, a
university-level institute.
• In 2005 the institution was re-named with the permission of the Ministry
of education in Taiwan as Tajen University with the permission of the
Ministry of education in Taiwan.
• Currently the President of
university is Dr. Rhei-Long Chen, and the university has four colleges and 17
academic departments and 4 institutes.
