Founded in 1964, the Overseas Chinese Institute
of Technology (OCIT) is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and
community services. OCIT has a proud tradition of providing educational
opportunities for intellectual and emotional growth in a broad range of
disciplines and professional fields. Integration of the latest technology
throughout the Institute strives to create a stimulating environment in which
students, faculty and staff can develop their interests, skills and talents
to the fullest extent. As an aid for later careers, students are required to
master basic computer skills and be proficient in at least one foreign
language preferably English.

There are computer labs, language labs, internet,
dormitory with complete facilities, dining cafeteria, and air-conditioned
classrooms.

Diverse
extracurricular activities are offered, through which interpersonal
communication and cooperation skills can be cultivated as a complement to
sound study skills and preparation for lifelong learning.
OCIT sponsors intercollegiate basketball
for both men and women. The school sponsors contests in cheerleading,
speaking, writing, and performing arts. There are student clubs in all
departments and for various interests such as English.
