This school originally established and named
Jin-Wen College in 1980, successfully became the first institute of
technology for higher education in northern Taiwan in1998. The school
subsequently changed its named to Jin-Wen Institute of Technology. Currently,
there are 16 departments, within four academic groups, which are in the
process of upgrading to become a University of Technology and Science. These
four academic schools are Tourism & Hospitality, Business &
Management, Liberal Arts and Electronics & Information. And we are
characterized by 1.Top-notch teaching faculty provide the best teaching
quality in JWIT. 2. Graduation means employment, which is accomplished
through vocational technical education. 3. Tuition in JWIT has not been
altered for five consecutive years, being listed as the nation’s lowest in
2004.
Facilities (50words)
JWIT
lies on a 10-hectare campus with 9state-of-the-art building. There are 23
rooms for the Computer Labs, Language Labs and Audio Video Room. The new
library has a five-floor with 8,600 meters and collections include books in
Chinese, English and Japanese, periodicals, A/V materials, electronic
journals, and online databases. We also have the E-Resource Learning Center
providing users independently learning language.
Extracurricular activities (75 words)
There are more than sixty student clubs are
registered into six basic varieties: general, physical, academic,
entertaining, serving and concerning ones.
Support for international students (50 words)
From
the fall semester, 2005, we have had international students from Aech,
Indonesia enrolling our regular daytime programs.For these students, we provide with 1/3 tuition waiving
and free charge of accommodation in our school dormitory.
